How "MollieCake" began...

MollieCake is built on the principles of designing unique cakes and providing quality service. Attention to detail is paid to every design. I have never made the same cake twice, in an effort to maintain a unique and personal standard. I design each cake according to my customers' needs.

The seed for this business was planted in 1996, when the host of my sister's baby shower needed a last minute cake for the event. I figured if my mom could do it when she was my age, surely I could handle it! While my mom was out-of-town, I rummaged through her kitchen to track down her old cake decorating supplies and got to work. After many hours of frustration and hard work, I presented the cake at the shower. My sister and her friends were thrilled with my ability to provide a cake on such short notice and were equally impressed with the results . . . but for me, I knew it was only the beginning!

After three years of teaching myself to design and decorate cakes for every family event imaginable, friends started asking if they could order from me, as well. Word spread and my creations were quickly dubbed, "MollieCake". That name seemed a natural choice when designing my new business and in 1999 MollieCake was officially launched!
